Joseph Ofori-Teiko has Banking sector working experience which spans a little over thirty-two (32) years, with a sound understanding of Banking and Finance. He has a rich store of experience in Credit Management; Risk and Compliance, and Treasury Management, with over eighteen (18) years’ experience in Senior Management positions.

 

He has Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture (Second Class Upper Division, 1982) from the University of Ghana, Legon; Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance (Cum Laude, 1992) from Finafrica Foundation, Milan, Italy; and Diploma Certificate in SME Financing (1993) from the International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy.

 

He worked with National Savings and Credit Bank (September 1984 – May 1994), Social Security Bank, now Societe Generale, Ghana (May 1994 – August 1996); and CAL Bank Limited (September 1996 – December 2017). At CAL Bank, he served in various capacities. He was the Treasurer from January 1998 to April 2009, the Head of Risk Management Department in 2009, appointed as Assistant General Manager, Risk and Compliance in 2010, and General Manager in January 2012, a role he played until December 2017.

 

As General Manager, he supervised the generation, evaluation and the making of recommendations on activities of Business Units (Treasury; Corporate Finance Department; Corporate and Institutional Banking Department; Private Banking; Retail and Business Banking, including the Branches), and Assets and Liabilities Management Strategy; as well as ensuring that proper governance and best practice is evident in all aspects of the activities of the Business Units.

 

He currently serves as a Board member of CAL Asset Management Company Limited; CAL Brokers Limited; CAL Bank Nominees Limited and CAL Trustee Company Limited.
